Broken Promises - A Mary O'Reilly Paranormal Mystery (Book 8)

Broken Promises - A Mary O'Reilly Paranormal Mystery (Book 8)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Eighth is Great!, August 25, 2012

You know how they say the longer the series the worse the books get? Well, I truly believe that Terri Reid has replaced that saying with the more books she adds to the series the BETTER they get! Oh my goodness! I was hooked from the first word until the very last and then I cried because I knew that the story wasn't done and that I was going to have to wait for the next book! I bought Broken Promises at 8 am and by the time 8 pm rolled around I was in tears! I loved it and can't wait for the next one!

Broken Promises finds Mary and Bradly embroiled in a new series of difficulties. Not only are they trying to find Bradly's lost daughter, Mary's two wonderful friends Rosie and Stanley both come to find that they have ghosts haunting them a week before their wedding. To top that all off they are having to testify against the man that ultimately killed Bradly's wife and kidnapped Mary. Unbeknownst to Bradly and Mary, Bradly's daughter, Clarissa, and her adopted mother are having to deal with their own demons.

Will everyone find their happy ending or will Stanley leave Rosie at the alter? Will Rosie be able to face her own personal demon? Will Clarissa be able to protect her mother from being murdered for the few dollars she has to her name or will they be able to make it out of Chicago before the bad man comes and finds them?

If you love a good story and enjoy being drawn in and wrapped up in the characters then this is the series for you. Even as the eighth book in the series you can still pick up Broken Promises on it's own and fall in love with the characters and relate to the story! I know you will and once you fall in love you will have to go back to the beginning and read them all!

You won't be able to resist!

He moved. It was a flash in the moonlight, a blur of motion like I'd never witnessed before. No human had the capacity to move like that. When I found myself face-to-face with him there in the meadow, I knew without a doubt that the journal was authentic. I knew that my grandfather hadn't been crazy at all. Because a foot away from me stood a vampire. What do you do when you find out the people you trust have been hiding a terrible secret? When Sarah Wood's father passes away and hands over to her the responsibility of running the family's inn, she finds put things are far more complicated than she first imagined. She's not just responsible for running the inn. She's become the Vampire's Warden.
Sarah Wood, after witnessing a battle between several powerful vampires on her land, is left stunned and feeling immensely guilty for having given permission for her friend, Alex, to be turned into a vampire rather than allowing him to die from his injuries. And though she tried hard to keep her sister, Katie from knowing about the whole vampire situation at their family’s Inn in the wooded hills of southern Indiana, Katie became the victim of a kidnapping herself. Sarah is left to face the return of her mother, who had abandoned the girls when they were children. She’ll need every ounce of her bad attitude and quick temper to deal with the new surprises coming her way, including an illness that could very well leave the entire responsibility of the Inn and the vampires to fall onto the shoulders of her younger sister.
In the third book of the Undead in Brown County series, Sarah Wood has to deal with the changes in her sister, Katie. She also gets to know someone new in her life who could end up being her salvation. And then there's Michael. He's desperate to keep Sarah safe from his enemies. How far will he go in order to protect her?
We will be giving away ebook and paperback copies of each of the books along with some amazing t shirts!

Coffin Girls (Elegantly Undead: Book 1 of the Coffin Girls Witch Vampire Series)

Coffin Girls (Elegantly Undead: Book 1 of the Coffin Girls Witch Vampire Series)

5.0 out of 5 stars Vampires, Witches, Fairies, Werewolves and Voodoo, August 21, 2012

Do you like books about vampires, witches, fairies, werewolves or any other paranormal entity? Do you like a good love story with lots of tension? Do you like new versions and ideas about what paranormal can do, be, or look like?

Then this is the book for you. Coffin Girls is a book about five vampires that are also part something else. They have carved a good living out for themselves and their "Cajun Voodoo Momma" in New Orleans. As wedding planners they are able to help other woman plan, prepare, and enjoy their own Cinderella Wedding Days.

Trying to fly under the Vampire Council's radar they are forced into a situation in which they have to "take in" some Witches because the leaders are trying to get the Vampires and Witches to form friendships that might mutually benefit both. As the creator of the Coffin Girls Anais is the leader of their little group and so she plays hostess. The leader of the Witches, Collin, feels an instant connection to her and it is something he has never experienced. When Anais passes out while showing the witches around New Orleans she is forced to trust the Witches with secrets she never thought she would have to share. Collin quickly decides that they can help each other and so the two groups form a front that is able to learn to love, laugh, and please the Goddess by helping those in need.

I refuse to be a spoiler in my reviews and so I must stop here and tell you this: This is an awesome book and so very very worth the price and time that it takes you to read it! I fell in love with the characters, the plot, and love that Aneesa puts into her books.

Please take the time and money to escape into a new world where everything is a little brighter, a little more red, and a lot bigger than we could have ever imagined! From the beginning of the book to the end I was hooked. I love being able to read a book and realize that I am mad when I am interrupted or when I have to sleep because all I want to do is keep reading!

This is one of those books that I had a book hangover with. I cried when it was over and trust me I will be harassing Aneesa until she gives us the sequel. I can't wait to find out what the Goddess has in store for the new friends!

In a word this book is: WONDERFUL! Try it! I know you will love it the way I did!

Spiritus, a Paranormal Romance (Spiritus Series, Book #1)
Price: $0.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Life, Ghosts, and Love!, August 14, 2012

After Becca's Mom dies her Father moves her into his ancestral home in a little bitty town in the middle of nowhere.
As with any other move for a school age teenager Becca is worried about fitting in and finding a "clique" to be a part of.
She soon finds out that small town schools are much different than the one she is used to.
After the first day at school she brings home a couple of girls that she met and they try to perform a seance in her bedroom before calling it a night.
Little did they know that they opened up a channel to the other side in order to allow Becca's EXTREMELY long lost relative.
As Becca begins to communicate with the resident ghost she soon learns more about the history of the house she is living in but also the little town that her father dragged her to.
Just as she begins to enjoy having the ghost around things in her life begin to get complicated and Becca she tried find some common ground but it is difficult.

From start to finish this book reels you in and keeps you bobbing right along until you are so deep into the book that you have forgotten to even come up for air!
Dana has a wonderful way with words that make you believe you are right there with Becca and Allister.
She has an amazing gift that she has shared with all of us and I for one am extremely grateful.
If you need to get lost in a book for awhile I would recommend this one in a heartbeat!
